NYX Jumbo Pencils

So I randomly went to this asian accessory store yesterday to buy my cheer squad some bobby pins and I noticed that they carried NYX cosmetics there. I was pretty excited to try them out because I feel like I'm stuck in my little MAC world. My beloved paint pots are running low so I thought I'd try the Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils as bases. I told myself that I would only get the essential colors but before I knew it, I had 7 colors in my hand! I couldn't resist, they were an awesome price ($4) and other beauty bloggers use them! I've read in other blogs that they are really good bases and from what I've noticed, the texture of them are pretty good. I have yet to try them on..that is coming soon!!! They are a little more creamy than paint pots so I hope they don't crease on me because I get oily later on in the day.

I'm soooooo inspired to do my makeup today! The sun is shining here in Cali....so why shouldn't I? Maybe me and hubby can go on a date :)

Strawberry Kiwi Look

Hey everyone! I really wanted to do a fun makeup so I did a shadow box using pinks and a green. This was one of my fave looks to wear at work and it always makes your eyes look super smokey because or the darker color in the inner and outer corners. Here are some shots:

Rockstar nails!

Good morning everyone!

I've been at work since 6am! I was home with the little one all day
yesterday so I need to make up some time. So last night I decided to
pull out my nail kit and do my nails. I have like every MAC glitter
and I wanted to do something fun so my hubby picked put the color.

What are rockstar nails you ask? They are glitter gel nails. I use
to get them done all the time on my toes when my eggo was preggo
because: 1) I couldn't reach my feet to even hook them up. 2) They
last like a month!

Glitter used:

-3D Gold

-Crystalized yellow

They are pretty easy to do and took me a little less than an hour. I got all my equpiment on ebay for really great prices. My gel nail kit only cost me like $15 from Hong Kong. All you need is clear gel, a UV dryer, and some glitter. Some glitter works better than others so its kind of trial and error. Reds don't hold up well at all from what I've heard.

Smokey Grey Look

What does your kit look like??

Good morning all!

So this past weekend I did a few faces and upon looking for product in my kit it dawned on me...MY KIT IS A HOT MESS! I've been an avid reader of makeupbyren's blog and she has to be one of the most organized MUA's I've seen. Here's mine:

I know, I know...it's sloppy. If you have any tips or suggestions on how to make it neater please let me know what works for you! I've organized and cleaned it many times and it ALWAYS goes back to looking like this! Please let me know what cases work for you, where you got them etc...

Chipped Nail Polish= No-No

If you are like me, you hate it when your manicure begins to chip! I'm always looking for an alternative to getting acrylics because those ruin your nails so much. Target is one of my fave stores and I decided to try Sally Hansen's No Chip Acrylic top coat. I used to do my own nails and went as far as to buy my own drill, gel, UV dryer, etc. But with a baby, its so hard to find the time. So I've had it on for about 3 days now and my nails are still looking fresh! It dried super fast and has a high glossy shine. It was only like $3.50!

Although I miss my rockstar nails, a solid color is always polished and purrrty! (fyi, rockstar nails are glitter gel nails...soooo fun! I'll do mine and show you later!)

Sarah Palin Runs for Prez in 2012

That's a big "hmmmmm." (with an eyebrow raised too) Followers of hers are already saying that she would be the Republic front runner for the election in 2012. A poll found that 64% of Republican voters favored her to represent them in the next election.

I really don't know what I would do if I had to sit through another one of her debates. Her voice is just painful! What do you think? At least her expensive MUA will still have a job!

Let's just hope all goes well with President Obama's stay in the White House and he decides to do it all again!

My lashes are so tiny :(

Hey Dolls! Hope your weekend was exciting!

So if you have super sparse and short lashes like mine, you are probably always on the hunt for a good mascara. Although I like to take the easy way out and pop on some lashes, when you wake up with an infant at night, and have to catch your train for work at 6:00 am, pulling out Duo and your lashes are the last thing on your mind. I've tried pretty much all MAC mascaras and haven't really found any that were to die for. I was at Target last night and came across Cover Girl's Volume Exact mascara:


90% of a mascara's perfromance depends on the brush. The brush is super flexible and the bristles are very sparse so not a lot of product is dispersed when you pull it out of the tube. I've tried MAC's Zoomlash a while ago thinking it would help me out, but it gooped on so much product! The Cover Girl Volume Exact applies just the right amount of product and I love it! I can put on 2-3 coats and no clumping at all! It doesn't flake and it lasts all day long. Hey, Drew Barrymore uses it so you know it's good.

The best date ever!

So last weekend I went to a cotillion which is a traditional celebration for a Filipino girl when she turns 18. I actually did the makeup for the birthday girl, Charlene. She wanted more of a natural look that would be versitile because her dresses were both white. Here's a picture of the look I did:
