Smokey Prom Look

HAPPY FRIDAY! One more week and I'm in Disney World bliss! Cannot wait! I wanted to post a couple of pics from a prom gig I did last friday for one of my beloved readers. She was the first person to contact me strictly from my blog and I was so excited to meet her! I usually get my gigs from word of mouth but to get one from my blog was sooooooo cool! Anywho, she was going to prom and wanted a smokey look without using too much color. Her dress was a deep teal and she was wearing silver accessories so I thought a lil smokey silver would be fab! She was concerned about her breakout so we hooked her up with my handy dandy Graftobian foundation palette. I had to mix a couple of colors to get the perfect shade for her and because she gets a bit oily we used a primer before using the foundation. Here's the final look! *if your reading this....HI WENDY!

I miss wearing looks like this one :/

I was ALWAYS the one at the counter wearing the bolder lips. ALWAYS. I think it finishes off any look and since we were selling makeup, why not wear it? This look was one of my faves to wear: matte eye, winged liner, and dark lips. I love the matte neutral eye because you can virtually wear any color lip with it and it looks ultra glam. Wearing a dark, bold lip always made me feel so sexy, and dolled up. Many people are afraid to come to the dark side and I always told them, "Anyone can wear a bold lip. It's all about finding the undertone that's right for you."

My BOOM BOOM POW contest entry!

Hey everyone! I wanted to squeeze in an entry for Katrina aka AhoyMate's
Boom Boom Pow contest. I tried to think of a bunch of things for this contest and I kept thinking of futuristic makeup.  I thought of robots and metal, silver and greys..but thought,"How boring!" Then I began to think about what I wanted to see in the future.  I thought about love, prosperity, and GLITTER! LOL. This is the look I came up with. I tried to draw a heart in the middle of my lips but it was a no-go. I wanted to symbolize words of kindness and love but couldn't depict that cuz it was too darn hard :/  Hope ya'll like it!

LOVE red lips on WOC!

Hey everyone! Happy friday! Another 2 weeks and I'll be on a plane to Florida. I'll probably be knocked out with some Nyquil because I hate flying but I'm sooooo excited I cannot contain myself. I can't wait to eat at the awesome restaurants and sneak away to the Orlando outlets! Just don't tell my BF..I'm FORCING him to go! LOL.

Sooooo, last friday, I did a makeup gig for one of my coworker's little cousins. It was her prom night and she wanted a more vintage look because her dress was black and white and she was wearing pearls! I love it when youngins opt for classic looks because nowadays, some girls wear the tackiest, skankiest stuff I've ever seen. She was about an NW45 in MAC terms and when asked if she's afraid of a red lip she said, "No, I love red!" That was music to my ears. I cannot tell you how loud I squealed, "Yay! Me too! Some people find it too bold."

We went more neutral but frosty on the eye and did a beautiful ruby red lip on her. I loved how it turned out. It was age appropriate and went so well with her overall look. Her skin was glowing and she was thrilled at the final look. Everyone was happy.

My Very First Mother's Day!

I know this is pretty late but I wanted to show you guys some pics of our beach adventure for mother's day. It was my first official mother's day and I was sooooo excited! Last year, I was about 7 months pregnant and we went to a hula festival where I got in for free because I was technically a mommy :)

My mother's day was absolutely AMAZING. I attribute that to having an amazing boyfriend. So I remember waking at 7am to the baby just slapping me to wake up and I did. My BF awoke as well and got up with the quickness and got dressed. I was still drowsy and not fully awake yet and all I remember is that he grabbed the baby and left the room. I woke up again at about 9:30 am and went into the kitchen where my great BF was making breakfast. Chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs, and chicken apple sausage. (I'm salivating just thinking about it..damn master cleanse!) He had red roses set up, the baby was fed, and he informed me that he ordered my gift but it hadn't arrived. I totally didn't care! I was astonished that he went to the store early in the morning with the baby, and cooked me this great breakfast. We decided on going to Santa Cruz because the weather was beautiful and it would be the baby's first trip to the beach. The seafood was BOMB and I took home 3 candy apples :)

IT WAS A WONDERFUL DAY :)

Inspired by Disney!

Happy Monday my beauties! These work weeks just keep zooming by and it just gets closer and closer to my birthday fun! I cannot wait! Anytime I think about my upcoming 80's bash and our trip to Disney World I get all giddy and happy. I'm such a geek, I know.

Now that I got that off my chest, I wanted to show you what I got for mother's day! I talked about it in a post from last week and I really wanted this Kidada for Disney Couture necklace to wear in Disney. Well, the Disney gods heard my cry and Daddy suprised me with it! AAAHHH!! I can't wait to rock it in Flo-Ridah! I wanted to wear it Saturday and felt really inspired by the colors on it so I did a look based on the teal and pink colors on it. There are little crystals floating around in the door too..its cuz I'm royalty and frou frou like that :)

Anywho, I wanted to use this as my entry for the gorgeous Sarah's Disney contest! I hope it counts because I didn't use and actual character. But Disney is known for it's Magical Kindgom castle and it really is a fairytale icon. When you think of any of Disney's parks you think of their enchanted castle. Every little girl and even adults want to be a princess in the castle. The lighting at night behind this structure is amazing with the fireworks show. I'm getting all nostalgic just thinking about it!

I just realized that I haven't posted a pic of what was used on my mug. I'll do that once I get home tonight. Oh yea, I wanted to ask you guys if you think my blog is getting too personal. I started this blog back in December, as a means to still connect with the beauty world after leaving my beloved MAC family and it has definately satisfied that part of my life. Although I don't share too much with you guys, I do often show you parts of my daily life as a mommy and a wifey. I can have another personal blog but I just don't think I have the time to maintain another. I definately try to make this blog more beauty related than personal. This was just a thought...I was going to share pics of my amazing mother's day but I don't want to bore you all with things that aren't beauty related. Let me know what ya'll think!

TOODLES!

Not-So-Good Cut Crease Look

I'm not very good at this crease cutting thing. I tend to blend like a mad woman and my cut crease all of a sudden gets super soft. I guess I should've just left it alone but I prefer a soft look and am not use to wearing very dark shadow.  Anywho, this is a look I did over the weekend and I was pleased with the results cut crease or not.  I actually wore this look to the hula festival we took the BF's mom to and it held up very well in the 85+ degree heat.  I've been attatched to my Select Tint Foundation for a bit now because I don't think I need a lot of coverage and paired with my lovely Prep+Prime transparent powder, its a keeper! My skin doesn't get oily after having my makeup on since 5am and I love the velvety texture it gives to my skin.  The majority of the colors in this look are from the Hello Kitty Lucky Tom palette. I thought it needed a little visit.

It's my 3 year anniversary today with the baby daddy and it's a Wednesday! I wanted to celebrate with him but I guess dinner will do. I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful boyfriend and father to my son. I know there will be MANY more to come! He's truly amazing and I've never met a guy who is so FOR ME as he is. He truly understand what his role entails and he does just that and more.  He made my mother's day spectacular and always continues to amaze me everyday.  I'm such a lucky girl! I'm feeling nostalgic so here's some eye candy:

Noelan's Baptism

I wanted to share some pictures from the day Noelan was welcomed into the Christian world. He was baptized on April 26th and it was a crazy stressful day. We were late to our own ceremony, he pooped during the ceremony, and the catering wasn't done on time and I had hungry patrons already at the reception, and his name on his cake was spelled wrong. *WOOOOOOOSAAAAH* I was excited to wear my pretty dress after staring at it for a month. Daddy was excited to wear his Burberry too. On to the pics!

They are in a backward order because of how they were uploaded so the reception will be up first:

The pic under under the cake is Noelan and his great grandmother, Apu. I love how he still has great grandparents and even one great-great grandmother alive! He met his great-great granny a few weeks back. It was a beautiful sight to have all these generations in one room.
That's all for now! I'll have another beauty related post up again soon!

Soft Kim Kardashian Look

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. I was very sad to see my weekend end. I almost cried last night (cuz I'm a sap) because my Mother's Day was almost over! On Saturday we hung out at the May Day Hula Festival and watched my halau dance and hung out with the BF's mommy and siblings for her mother's day. Sunday, was about me! I'll leave that for a later post so I can share the fun we had together!

A reader contacted me and asked if I would do a tutorial on a very soft Kim Kardashian look and I was soooo flattered. Moi? It took me a while to actually do it and when I did, I actually recorded myself doing it. It was an EPIC FAIL! It was my first video tut and it wasn't good at all. I need more practice. I will try again at a later date. To that reader that made the request, please let me know if this is suffice. If you need more of a breakdown on how to apply the products, let me know! I'm sorry I couldn't put that video up...trust me, my angle was all wrong and the lighting wasn't good.

This look is an ultra soft, very bronzed look. The eyes are very soft with a bronzey brown and the cheeks are very coral and tan. The lips are very nude and washed and the liner is kept at a minimum and is brown. I LOVED this look and find that it can be worn as a nice everyday look. It was super simple because there isn't a whole lot going on with the eyes and I loved wearing this on mother's day.
